Halloween 2014!

October 2014 We sure have been enjoying our Fall mild weather. I love seeing the leaves falling from the trees. Even though some see it as a mess in the yard, I see them as great compost and great ground cover material.

Halloween came quickly. We are enjoying seeing all the unique costumes both kids and adults come up with year after year.

Sanoviv Update

Donkey Refuge This month, Al and I made a trek to Sanoviv for our annual health and wellness retreat. We first started going to Sanoviv back in 2011, where we underwent a battery of tests to measure our physical fitness levels. So about this time every year we go back to see if we are making progress towards our fitness goals. This month, we went through all the screenings and we received such good news! We both have very healthy cells and Al has the heart of a teenager! One additional bit of nice news is that our stress scores were much lower than where we began. This was music to our ears considering us running a business and the busy schedule we keep.

Invisible Miracles

invisiblemiraclesWe met with Dr. Wentz when we were at Sanoviv. Dr. Wentz is the owner and founder of this 5 star hospital located in Rosarito, Baja Mexico. While we were there, we picked up a copy of his book "Invisible Miracles" where he shares a glimpse of his vision in how to tackle some of the worlds greatest challenges, such as chronic degenerative disease. He also shared his mission which is to educate everyone so that “True health” can be realized for future generations everywhere. Dr. Wentz loves teaching about the human cell and what it takes to keep them happy and healthy.

Curious what Al's cells look like? We did a live blood test and here is a photo of Al's blood!invisiblemiracles

While we were at it, we also met the Director of Nutrition and Research, Karen Langston. Karen has an incredible story about how she cured herself of Chrons Disease.

If you want to read about her story, click here.

Cellular Communication

During Karen's lecture, she shared this quote I found insightful on cellular communication by Edgar Mitchell, from the book The Living Matrix:

It has been very well documented that our belief system affects how we behave and how we perform.  It also affects our lifestyle, so that if we don’t believe we can help ourselves, we probably cannot.  If we do not believe that positive information is useful to our health and well being it probably won’t be.

Our trips to Sanoviv are always fun, adventurous and informative. We are looking forward to next years visit!

One - Nine Personality Types

1-9 Personality

In the previous newsletters, we covered Personalities one through nine. The characteristics, strengths and weaknesses of those numbers.

Keep in mind no one is made up of just one personality type. We can have many in our makeup. Once we are more aware of how we can help strengthen the weaknesses we have, we strengthen the relationships we have around us.

Home Made Deodorant

My friend Teresa Hollomon shared her recipe for home-made deodorant, which she makes all the time. You might ask, why bother to make your own deodorant? Well, for many reasons.

Some of the ingredients in deodorant have been linked to cancers and others create hormonal imbalance. Here are some of the chemicals found in most deodorants:

  • Aluminum – A metal that is linked to breast cancer.
  • Parabens – This chemical disrupts our delicate hormonal balance.
  • Propylene glycol – A petroleum based product, which in large quantities studies have shown can cause damage to the central nervous system, liver and heart.
  • Phthalates – A chemical linked to variety of health issues and birth defects.
  • Tricisoan – Is classified as a pesticide by the FDA and a probable carcinogen by the Environment Protection Agency.

Teresa, her friends, and everyone who has used this raves about how well this deodorant works. I am making my first batch this weekend and I will report back with what I find. Here is the recipe in case you want to see how it works.

HomeMade Deodorant Recipe

  • 1/2 Cup Coconut oil (Organic Cold Pressed)
  • 1/4 cup Bees wax
  • 3 Tbsp Baking soda
  • 3 Tbsp arrowroot powder
  • 2 capsules probiotic powder (such as Usana)
  • 5-10 drops organic essential oil of choice such as lavender, orange, tea tree, or lemongrass.

In a small saucepan melt coconut oil and the beeswax on VERY VERY low heat (Coconut oil melts very easily just sitting in the sun, so add that last.)

When both are melted, take off the heat and whisk in baking soda, arrowroot powder, and the probiotic powder.

Allow 5-10 minutes to cool and stir occasionally, until the blend thickens.

While the wax and coconut oil are still liquid (but not super hot) mix in the 5-10 drops of essential oil. The reason for letting the mixture cool is so that the essential oil constituents don't dissipate into the air when meeting a hot oil and wax mixture.

Afterward, put in a jar with a cap and you're done!

Private Lending Dallas Trip

I held down the fort as Al traveled to Dallas to meet with his private lending group in the United States. The trip was very fruitful.

The highlight of the weekend was the finalization of two loans that have matured and been repaid.

The session was all about how to become your own financier. It was quite different than the usual presentations as it included some expert speakers on subjects related to all types of lending.

For example the author of the recent book called “The Private Vault” by Gregory Boots, JD spoke about the importance of becoming your own bank using the Rothschild’s method.  The benefit of having a your own bank is that you eliminate many of the costs involved in borrowing money because you are getting rid of the middle-man. You are financing your expenses, yourself as you continue to build wealth. In the future and by recapturing our interest payments, using velocity (the turning of money) and compounding it in a tax advantage situation.  One way you become wealthy by saving money on your interest payments and on your taxes.

Well that's it for now. We are looking forward to a beautiful November and wonderful family get-together's! We sure hope you enjoy your holidays. Back at the end of November....

We are looking forward to our next newsletter at the end of November. Smiles, hearts and cash flow to all!
