Sharing our journey with you...

DeMelo's Da News

The day of Easter

Al and I have loaded up on enough chocolate to last another year, how about you? Are you all chocolated out? We hope you enjoyed your holiday. While Al spent his time fishing (and didn't catch a thing,) I spent some time cleaning up the yard and greenhouse. It looks great now.

Thunder down Under

Well another year has gone by, so it was time to head to Thunder Bay again to be of service to our mentors Checking out the property and also complete an inspection of our six-plex. All the suites are running smoothly thanks bowling to our fantastic property managers. You really learn how important it is to have great property managers when you live a siginificant distance from your property. having dinner Steve, July, Shelley, Al

Dinner and bowling made for a fun night. I also learned I need much more practice at the ten-pin! lol

Our ToastMaster Success

Success Thumbs up to Al and I for getting through our second speech with toastmasters! What a great organization.

We have seen a huge difference when speaking, as we have so much more confidence thanks to the Toastmaster Experience. They even have someone who counts the "uh", "Uhms", when you speak. Al has gone from speaking with 32 in his first speech to five in his second! Now that's definitely an improvement!

We highly recommend this program. Perhaps you might want to consider adding ToastMasters to your personal growth goals.

The Mastermind Group

Have you ever thought about joining or creating a mastermind group?

The world-renowned Napoleon Hill coined the concept of the mastermind alliance in his classic book Think and Grow Rich. Napolean Hill believed that a group of like-minded, achievement-oriented individuals could dramatically leverage each other's success by sharing what we learn in our world with others. Here are some tips to establishing a Master Mind Group. Master mind groups meet on a set frequency with the same team members selected. Team selection is important. Remeber to select participants by the value they can bring to the focus of the Master Mind Group.

  • Assign a moderator
  • Establish discussion guidelines
  • Identify goals of the Master Mind
  • Set a sharing time limit
  • Have a buzzer go off when someone‚Äôs speaking time is up
  • Write down everything even if you think it is silly
  • Embrace the ridiculous and make it fun
  • Talk about things out side of your comfort zone

Shelley the Broadcaster

High fives to me for signing up for an introductiory course to radio broadcasting. I know between this and ToastMaters, I will surely boost my ability to speak in public, not to mention, it will make these engagements a lot more fun. At the end of the course we will have created our own commercial, news story and I will have my own demo tape and that is very cool

Live, Love, and Laugh!

Till next month,
