HAPPPPPPPY January!!

Now is a great time to dream and plan your 2011 Goals. What people, events and places will you see and experience this year? And, most importantly, what goals will you achieve!

Got Good Credit?

When starting the new year, a good thing to consider doing is checking out your credit score.

Credit Management is your responsibility and it is essential to be mindful of your credit score throughout your entire life. Your credit transactions, payment history, rent payment history all kinds of things are tracked about you and you receive a score from the credit agencies. Basically, they monitor how responsible you are with money. How do you rate with lenders? Check your report regularly to make sure everything is correct.

You can get a copy of your credit report from the credit agencies. If you click the image below you will see addresses and contact numbers for the three agencies in Canada. The USA has the same agencies as well. By reviewing your your report, you will know

  • What your credit file contains
  • How to get information deleted that is not verified or if it is incorrect. i
  • If you have been one of the growing victims of identity theft and credit fraud.

What is your Total Debt Service Ratio (TDS)

Total Debt Service Ratio - TDS is a debt service measure that financial lenders use as a rule of thumb to give a preliminary assessment of whether a potential borrower is already in too much debt. More specifically, this ratio shows the proportion of gross income that is already spent on housing-related and other similar payments.

Receiving a ratio of less than 36% means that the potential borrower has an acceptable level of debt. Here's how to calculate yours!

Technology to Keep Up With!

I received an email from a friend to watch this video. In it, it explains how just being near someone with an RFID chip on their Passport, Credit Card, etc, can be electronically stolen without even taking it from your pocket. Click on the image to see the video! Fascinating. There is so much to keep up with in this world.

Live and Learn!!

Always laugh at situations and look at them as a learning experience. Consider it like putting regular gas in a diesel tank! oooooops Yes after a hefty bill the car is ok.

Did you take time to smell the roses and have a bit of fun last month? Al and I went tobogginning! Here are some pictures. We had a blast. It reminded us that "Life is Supposed to be Fun!" --Abraham

Here are some pictures! Maybe, if you haven't taken the time, you might be inspired to do something FUN! TobogganingWe went to saskatchewan over Christmas to go tobogginning and spend quality time with our family. Al and I had a blast enjoying the snow and especially spending quality time with our family.

Remember to add in your fun time for yourself!! What are some fun activities you can do this month?

We Got Published!!

We got our story published in the January/February 2011 issue of our industry magazine, Maximum Yield. it was a great surprise and quite an honor to have such a nice article about our company published.

If you would like to read the article, click the image and download the PDF file. You'll find our story on pages 66 and 67.

Point of Sale System Chosen!

We have finally selected our Point of Sale System. This was a tough task as there was a lot of analysis and research required. However we were able to determine a product we thought would best meet our needs. Remember, when you are looking at doing something new in your business it takes research. Here are the steps we took:

  • First, We got referrals and talked with others who are using the various systems.
  • Second, We consulted a mentor on questions that might have missed or over looked
  • Third, Weighed the pros and the cons of each system
  • Fourth, We made a decision
  • Fifth, Most important we TOOK ACTION!

We sure hope your February is a productive, healthy, and happy time for you!

Live, Love, and Laugh through all of 2011!

Till next month,

Al & Shelley
